Carbon Offset

Carbon Offset schemes allow individuals, businesses, and organizations to invest in environmental projects around the world in order to balance out their own carbon footprint.

A number of market-accepted standards are developed to make sure that the offset projects are functioning as they should, the most popular standards include Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS), and Gold Standard (GS).

According to Ecosystem Marketplace, the market for voluntary offsets came close to $300 million and traded almost 100 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2018, the latest year for which data is available. Estimates of the size of the global carbon compliance offset market range between $40 billion and $120.

Following a wave of Global Climate Action led by UNFCCC, more ambitious commitments from governments, cities, regions, businesses, and investors are urgently required to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. Initiatives are booming out from all kinds of regions and industries, including Climate Neutral Now, and Race To Zero Campaign.

Meeting these ambitious targets will eventually require decarbonizing completely, which is tougher for some countries and companies than others. So they can nonetheless start making progress right away by buying offsets to help provide the “net” in their “net-zero emissions” goals.

We can provide high-quality carbon offset credits by developing climate-friendly offset projects.

Nature Based Solution

Nature Based Solutions (NBS) are defined by IUCN as “actions to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural or modified ecosystems, that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits”.

The IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions was developed to be facilitative, incentivising and enabling users to implement strong NbS projects through public consultation reaching hundreds of stakeholders from 100 countries. And the first version of the Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions was launched in July 2020.

Nature based solution includes many sectors, forests are probably the most well-known nature-based solution for climate change, but there are many more – including peatlands, mangroves, wetlands, savannahs, coral reefs and other landscapes.

As a company with rich experience in managing carbon project portfolio, we are continuing to expand our project experience into nature based solution sector and promptting the climate benefit by conduting any initiatives.

We are helping our clients scoure the carbon credits that are certified by international standards to ensure they are robust, but also provide measurable benefits to the ecosystems and communities in which they operate. We have already try more innovative projects like biodiversity, forests, mangroves and soil restoration.
